Yesterday, my buddy Rassles totally rasslefied the movie He's Just Not That into You, well at least I think she did-- well actually maybe not, I'm not sure if I can use the word "rasslefied" for her ripping the movie a new one, I'll just have to face the fallout of that with her later.
Tonight the hubs and I went to Sydney's Open Air Cinema, which is like the most coolest, crazy awesome place you can possibly see a movie, probably in the whole entire world. I love you this much (visual: arms open as big and wide as possible) Open Air Cinema.
Last night we saw Yes Man with Jim Carrey, and this movie was all kinds of hilarious and once again cemented my belief (even though it was fiction) about attitude ruling your life.
Yes Man was funny as hell and with the spectacular backdrop of Sydney's Opera House, Harbour Bridge and city skyline in the background I wish I could do it again tomorrow night.
Totally a "must see". Go now, run! I'd have to watch something really depressing to bring me down from this one-- anyone up for a little Schindlers List?

I saw Bad Education there. It was fantastic when the bats flew off on their nightly jaunt to Centennial Park.....
I'm so bummed we canceled. Two sets of tickets - rained out for Australia, and sick as a dog for Yes Man. Maybe next year....although next time I think we'll just wait and buy our tickets the day of the show. Sounds like you had a great time!
Awesome. I love Sydney when I think of all these sorts of great things the city puts on during the summer months.

How wonderful! Ft. Lauderdale used to do something very similar years ago. Naturally, I didn't know anything about it until after they stopped.

Yes, I know what Schindlers List is! They do show old movies at the Open Air Cinema, not just new releases. I just thought you might be wanting to see a heavy, thinking film! Obviously not! LOL :-)
Candice- Totally. Last year we saw the documentary "In the Shadow of the Moon" there- totally killer.
Erin- I figured you must know what that movie was-- though you are pretty young, maybe the youngin's aren't familiar?? Haha.
I heart the Open Air Cinema.
It has been on my wishlist for years but I never got around to it. Either because they sold in five nano seconds or because my darling but disorganised friends couldn't get it together.
This year I've decided to do a new thing every month (a total of 12 over the year). As I happens I've done three in January but that is a tale for another time.
I wanted to see something uplifting or funny and went with "The Visitor" on January 22. It proved to be more about compassion than the uplifting movie I was expecting but still worthwhile.
It was a balmy evening after a humid day. First seagulls then later, bats floated on the night breeze. The lights from the city made the water sparkle and the stars shone down.
I'll be going again next year.
I heart the Open Air Cinema (and Sydney Harbour).
Miss Fi- I was supposed to go the see The Visitor but we didn't make it that night, how funny. And I can't believe I forgot to mention the bats that fly around while you watch the movie-- quite an important part of the experience, right?

At least they're not handling snakes at school. (sorry, a Southern evangelical reference) So we'll be in Sydney April 2-11 - let us know if you want anything from Colorado, we could bring some snow in a cooler. We're the couple that have two kids the age of yours and exchanged emails a while back.
I loved that movie too! Now I think I wanna see it again.
