Fox News Is Not Actually News

Fair & Balanced graphic used in 2005

I'm just wondering...
Are they smoking crack over at Fox News?
I can't be the only one who wants to know.

Did I mention this is the only "American news" station we get?
We do have CNN International, but it's not the same as CNN in the states.

When Fox News says "We report, you decide." I want to throw my television.

First, I love the new look here, too but what happened to the lavender background? I liked it actually. Next, I think everyone's "names" are really great and make me want to change mine to something cute/funny/inexplicable/interesting too...
Lastly, I am trying to catch up on the comments from your blogs - I think I've read all your blog stuff but didn't read everyone's comments..woman's work is just never done, is it? Hmmm. Oh, well, I can only add that I can not wait to see you here...and you can watch all the "good" news channels "unlimited", use any great/wonderful/Fahrenheit ovens if you choose, and drive on the correct side of the road/car. And, don't forget the "No Jet Lag" for your trip! It is positively the best thing since white bread ever - I will never travel without it!

Thanks blue house mom!

Pamela Rose- I think you should choose a new name-- how about "sexy baking grandma" or "hot mess of mondelbread"?
I'm not sure what I'll do with the background color, for now I'm going to see how I like the white.
I'll get the jet lag for sure.

I love your new header! And yes, I think more people smoke crack then we would ever believe. Me? I'm just going to stick with the red wine, it makes things better. Oh yes, it does.

Hey, Florida Girl, I feel your pain! Why doesn't CNN give us the "normal" channel Down Under?

At least we still have Jim Lehrer's News Hour on SBS each day to keep us sane!

Faux News chaps my ass, but my fiance insists we watch it sometimes just to get really angry.

There is just simply not enough blood pressure medication in the United States to permit me to watch the idiots on Fox/Faux News without stroking out.

They are so self-rightous in their misguided and bigoted reporting.

Fox is a blight on society. As a former Communications major I find the mere existence of that network offensive. The scary thing is the vast amount of Americans that watch it and take it all in as gospel. The network feeds dribble, lies and propaganda to its hungriest hordes and those minions continue to work their sad lil mindsets to their hearts content; very sad. A bit of advice: When watching Fox News one must watch as if it were 'The Colbert Report'!!Kepp up the cool blogs down under.

Christine- Thanks! I'll just stick with my other vices too and skip the crack.

Dianne- I never saw Jim Lehrer's news hour on here-- what time? It's probably while my kids are awake-- I don't get to watch TV then.

Gypsy- Sounds like us. We turn it on just to make ourselves spew hatred at the TV-- then we decide Fox "to never watch it again". Repeat again following day, cause we like torture.

David- Yep, all that.

Steve- Totally. Love Colbert, and that's a great angle to the way to watch Fox, if we must.

Not crack, Florida Girl, a carefully ground powder made from Dick Cheney's first heart mixed with crude oil.

You can probably get ESPN too...

Laura said...

Free Man- We do get ESPN and all the other American non-news channels-- but unfortunately CNN is not the U.S. version-- as is the same with you I'm assuming.

Does anyone still watches Fox News, I thought only conservative fanatics who love Bush do?

Laura said...

Ali- Right, that would be the right answer-- then there people like me (and Gypsy-- see comments) who watch it to torture ourselves. It's not right.

I don't know what Fox is saying about the bailout, though I watch it more than any other channel (that is, maybe half an hour a month).

I have a T-shirt that says "Kill Your TV". It's one of my favorites. I'm looking forward to the death of television, of advertising, of media in general. Of course, that will be brought on by the lack of fuel or electricity or food. We haven't had a nice depression in ages. ;-)

Fox News is essential to American life, because it's probably the only thing that's hated equally across the country. Demographics be damned.

Well duh.

If you haven't already, watch the documentary "Outfoxed". Very eye-opening.

Jim Lehrer is on SBS at either 5 or 5.30pm Tuesday to Saturday, check your local listings.

It's interesting to read how many people slander the only news station that actually DOES present anything other than the media-driven, anti-establishment, extreme-leftist, drivel that every other "news" station presents. Our world is saturated with the left's babble, complacency and utter nonsense - kind of like Obama himself. It would be nice if he'd actually SAY what he's going to do (Biden included) rather than just cutting down the competition. I have yet to hear him say anything about what his actually plans are (other than "cut taxes for 95% of Americans" by "raising taxes on small business, the wealthy and corporations", which will actually cost those 95% more money than they had cut) - no wonder the media love him so much.

Rassles- Yes, equal opportunity offenders-- and we're like abused puppies that keep coming back for more.

Tors- I don't do any TV until after 8pm, that's why I've never seen it I'm sure.

Anonymous- The reason "our world is saturated with the left's babble" is because most of the world is in agreement that GWB has driven the country into a bad, bad spot.

I just want to add my dollars' worth (did someone say recession?)regarding Fox News. I don't actually know anyone who watches Fox News. And, as far as being a blight, most hotels here in south Florida must agree since they scramble the Fox station from their guests' view.

Actually, the "bad, bad spot" that America is currently in didn't start 8 years ago, it actually started in the early 1990s under the Clinton administration. It was Clinton and his cronies who pushed for and helped create the market that allowed the high-risk subprime mortgage loans to be taken up, in particular, by minorities. Funny how the media completely ignores this very real fact. As for the war on terror, if Clinton/Gore had actually done their research when Saudi Arabia handed Osama to them on a silver platter, perhaps other things could have been avoided as well. But then again, these are things you'll never hear on mainstream TV.
