Woolworths or Coles? A Question With No Answer..

How is it that my bank, and ebay, and dozens of other websites never, ever have asked me to change my password, but for some reason ColesOnline, a local grocery store, requires users to change their password every thirty days? Is that really necessary? It's freaking groceries.

Are they concerned someone is going to log in under my name and order cream cheese, tampons, and salami?

And it's not like they even store my credit card information-- I have to go through all the payment stuff every time we order. On the flip side, they do keep a master list of everything I've ever purchased; I can only imagine what some hacker would do with that kind of info.

I've had enough. I can barely keep up with all the passwords I've acquired in the last fifteen years, now to buy groceries I should keep a rotation of passwords on hand and in head?

I'm done. Woolworths.com, I'm all yours baby.

Well, they're really just trying to protect your privacy in the feminine hygiene aisle, I'm sure. (You're right, that IS ridiculous.)

So tampons and salami, eh? You sly, sly fox.

I don't know what that means, it just seemed appropriate.

Marvin- Yeah, it's out of control.

Rassles- I actually do know what that means because they both are somehow related and I just won't go there.

Love me some Woolys! It's the closest thing down here to Harris Teeter back home, or what we in Charlotte, NC, call Taj MaTeeter. Yes, it is THAT big, THAT sexy, THAT nice. It's the closest thing to a gourmet grocery (think Dean & Deluca, though there we have that too) without the gourmet prices.

So keep us posted on woolworths.com.au. I'm curious!

Hope Woolies serves you better. Have you noticed that EVERYONE who works at Woolies (at least my local one) is Indian (or maybe middle-eastern)? Why is that?

I can't stand changing passwords. FYI I prefer Woolies. I usually only go to Coles for the giant bottles of Best Foods Mayo and the Coffee Mate creamer refill. How far I've sunk, drinking powdered coffee creamer. I miss my Coffee Mate coconut liquid creamer....

AWESEOME! hahahaha

my company credit card used to make us change our password every 90 days. So we used a typical password and just changed a number at the end every few months. Seriously though, so annoying and hard to keep track of!!

I hope you don't put cream cheese, tampons and salami all in the same sandwich

V- I'm gonna have to love me some Woolies too, but only online because the one near my house isn't great.

Jenny- Just lucky?

Ana- Coffeemate Cinnamon something refrigerator creamer, I miss you.

Elsja- At least a credit card it seems like there'd be a reason-- but still super annoying.

Nursemyra- Doesn't everyone eat that?

Gnu- You really need to keep me more informed on where I should be shopping.

I totally hear you. I had to start my own Word document with all my user id's and passwords so I could remember them all. And the ones that make you change your password every 30 days? They blow!

If you make it tough enough, I don't do business with you. Accessing some blogs are a joke, and I find myself not inclined to visit them.. I have people trying to get me on Facebook, Twitter, etc... if it isn't easy, I don't do it! I only have X amount of air left to breath, and playing "Mother May I?" is not something I want to waste it on...

Laura said...

Heatherpride- Yeah, it's totally ridiculous

Buffalodick- My husband and I always refer to people who work for a company and make you not want to shop there (either by having a bad attitude or making ridiculous company policy) as the Sales Prevention Team.

I know, it drives me nuts. But someone hacked my Yahoo mail account a while back, so I know change my password every couple of months using a byzantine combination of letters and numbers.

Of course, I have to write them down and stick them in my wallet or I'll forget. So as long as I don't get mugged it will all be good.

lol that really is lame
woolies is so much better than coles anyhow:)

I've given Woolies and Coles the big flick. There's a SPAR on the corner of my street for necessities and the rest I get from the fishmonger, butcher and greengrocer on the other side of the road.

I love my new neighbourhood!

They make us change our work passwords every month. Hell if I can ever remember the damn thing.
