Xtreme Preschool Action

I grew up in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida-- an area which grew its own breed of skateboarders, surfers, and beach bums. But Sydney seems to have truly cornered the market on surf culture.

A couple of weeks ago we thought we were really cool taking our Wiggles Big Red Car and our Bob the Builder ride on thing to Bondi Beach.

It was a gorgeous day, and as usual we stopped at the skate park so the boys could watch the skaters, scooters, and bikers do their tricks.

There was a 5 year old boy on a Razor in the skate park who was totally awesome, which wasn't surprising after seeing his daddy towing a baby on his own scooter.

That's the 5 year old, and he was totally rad. We just don't have that gene in our family-- but we are here, and the bottom line is-- our kids will partake in this stuff.

By the way, yes, my husband and I had to completely restrain ourselves from telling skater-dad that his five year old really needed a helmet. We were giving him the benefit of the doubt that possibly there were knee & elbow pads under his clothes (that's what we do)... but that might have been optimistic.

So a couple weeks later here we are...
First day with our new scooter:

Second day with new scooter:

Oh yeah baby, we have arrived, bring on the surfboards biatches.
