This photo is from our trip to the Gold Coast in December. This was taken at Sea World. And as I saw my little boy holding a big fake gun for the first time, I realized that it was only natural being that he was born in Texas. By the way, we're democrats.

Why am I here?
This blog is to chronicle my life abroad as an expat mom with small children.
It's easy to think that moving to Australia would not cause complete culture shock (being that we speak the same language for the most part), but in reality, it's not that simple.
I'm hopeful that at the end of this journey I will refer back to this blog and appreciate everything we've experienced and ultimately survived.

Update June 2014: We have just moved back to Sydney after spending 2.5 years in San Francisco. This is much easier the second time around because my kids already love Vegemite and I speak fluent Aussie.

Cute pic. How did you like Sea World down there? I remember going to the one in San Diego as a kid, but have never been to the Aussie version.
We really liked Sea World on the Gold Coast a lot-- can't wait to go back. It was the 1st time my boys went on those kind of rides. Really, really great.
Where in TX are you from? We lived in Dallas for 4 years. We loved it there, people are so nice.
I'm from the Rio Grande Valley, right near Brownsville and South Padre. Spring break was always interesting. :)
