Sydney Noodle Festival

Sydney Noodle Festival by you.

Advertising for events in Sydney is very low-key, so if you aren't actively scouting out the current festivities (like by reading this several times a week), they will come and go-- and it will totally suck when you realize all the stuff you've missed out on!

Last year the Sydney Noodle Festival was one of those things I heard about in the final hour, probably as they pan fried the very last batch of something awesome that I didn't get to shove in my mouth. Damn.

This year, I was determined to get noodled. The four year old foodie and I went.
We dumplinged, noodled, heard music, then topped it off at the Serendipity Ice Cream booth.

Yes, it was yummy.

I highly recommend attending any event where you find tents lined up, serving dumplings and noodles.

Sydney Noodle Festival by you.
I took this photo right before some drunk guy came up and started doing pelvic thrusts behind the unsuspecting foo dog. I wish I had a photo of that, but I think whipping out the camera would have just encouraged the drunk bastard even more-- which would have been fine, except that I was with my four year old, and I try and be classy around him.

Leave it to the Aussies to sodomize a foo dog. Have you noticed that Australians are rednecks or is that an SA phenomenon?

Cheeky One- It was pretty good for free entertainment.

Free Man- Well there was the guy who spit on my car...

That looks like fun! I try to be classy around my kids too, but now that they're getting older, it's getting harder. They seem to notice so much more than they did when they were little. Oops.

Comedian Greg Proops describes Australia as Arkansas with a beach. Not that there's anything wrong with that....

Christine- I hear ya sista.

Gypsy- It really is.

Pam- I am a foo dog. Like mother like daughter.

Anater- That's hilarious. But the accents make Australians sound much more prim and proper.

The thing about four year olds, is that they tend not to remember things when they get older. ;)

Oooo! Sounds like a tasty day!

And, uh, I thought only drunk Americans humped things... I'm so sheltered! LOL

Duck- Thank god!

Corrina- I know, I was surprised too.
